I get the below error (see attachment) when trying to re-install/unintall nVidia tools 6.05. I am running Windows 7 RC 7201. It is specifically related to the performance part of the tools. I have tried installing earlier versions and no luck. I found a MSI fix, but that didn't resolve the issue.

On another note, when my laptop sits idle for a while, it freezes up, sometimes temporarily, sometimes I have to manually restart (on/off button). Power settings are all off or optimum for plugged in. I think this is a WIn 7 issue, but it happens less or fixes quicker depending on what video driver I use.

Any ideas on the above two issues would be greatly appreciated :) .

You're basically on your own with that RC version - it was never released to the general public, so you won't get any help from MS. I've never used it that RC, but I've heard that several of the private RCs were pretty buggy; unfortunately you might be in that boat.

You can try to restore to a point before you installed the tools. After you do that, install them in compatibility mode.

Your freezes could be a result of nearly anything - buggy release, lack of drivers for your laptop, etc. I'd uninstall whatever video drivers you installed and let Windows install default drivers.
