I've got an Asus g50vt-A1, recently I've installed windows 7, but kept Vista around for fun.

I've noticed that almost all games I've played, have a drop of 20-30% in fps, there's certainly something weird here as 7 if not supposed to be faster than Vista, should at least have similar performance because its somewhat very similar and have the same stuff going under the hood.

Of course the first thing to think of in this case is drivers, GPU drivers, and I have the latest Nvidia drivers for my GPU. I've run CCleaner and I'm also sure there's no way on earth I have a virus/spyware.

The processes running are the only one required by Windows, and another one for Direct console and a bunch of ones (about 4) for keyboard shortcuts for Asus laptops etc.. so very few programs running too.

My HDs are newly formatted and defragmented, and my OS is genuine and auto-updated.

I'm really hitting walls here, and I've found myself doing the only thing I can do right now, which is working on Windows Vista.

*Note that also newer games that are supposed to work on 7 have the same issues.
    * and my GPU is not overheating neither is the cpu.

I'm running out of ideas, help me please.

Yeah, nVidia's drivers are a complete mess these days. There's no reason to assume that the newest are the best. Matter of fact, the 190 and higher series all seem to have serious issues. 186.82 is a good one to try.
