I have installed Windows Server 2008 on my Inspiron 1525. The install went smoothly and I got all the drivers installed except one. The wireless adapter doesn’t seem to want to work. Windows keeps throwing this error, “Dell Wireless WLAN Card Wireless Network Controller has stopped working”. I assumed that because the machine originally came with Vista Home Edition (32 bit) that the problem was with the version of the driver. I have looked for a version that is made for the 64 bit OS but so far I’m not having any luck. Well I’m just guessing about which driver since I don’t really know the manufacture or model of the WLAN card. I tried the driver for the Inspiron 1545 and that didn’t work.

As I recall Windows 2003 had drivers for almost everything bundled in the install for the OS.

Anyone have any experience with this issue.

Reviewing and checking if you have added the "Wireless LAN Service" feature under Windows 2008 server, before applying your driver.

    cheers ...
