So a few weeks ago I upgraded to SP1, some evaluation version that i got through windows update. Some of you probably remember that little trick.
What i'm wondering is when the real SP1 comes out, how will I uninstall what I've done without getting rid of my OS. Will I even have to uninstall the old SP1?
Thanks in advance.

MS has pledged that you won't have problems.
However, I just installed RTM SP1 64bit to find that my system won't boot. NTLDR is missing. -
Go to control panel>program and settings>view installed updates.
Select Service Pack for Microsoft Windows and click Uninstall.
Make sure you have disabled your anti-virus beforehand, just in case. -
If you have RC2, it is supposedly the final version--to be honest, if it were me, I'd still probably uninstall it and let Windows Update put you at sp1 in March
renee,
Do you have a second drive in the PC? -
It actually is the RTM one. There ain't other build released. All the crap stories about MS delaying the SP due to driver problems (some sort of fix or whatever) are not true. They delayed the release because they wanted to.

They always do it. They have two launches: for business users and consumers. The first one always comes before the second one (just using the current order, not making a dumb affirmation). They did it with Vista RTM too.

It sucks, but there isn't much we can do. We need to use their OS, so we have to abide by their rules and wants.

That really makes sense. I hope others (like the developers) will come to the same conclusion.

According the the extensive SP1 review:
