I'm looking at the Dell Inspiron Notebook and was wondering if someone could clear up whether Windows Vista 32-bit or 64-bit is available from Dell.

Honestly I'm not even sure if both versions are available at all or not but was wondering because I'm trying to figure out if the Core2 Duo would work better than the Core Duo.. but if Windows Vista is not 64-bit, then I guess it wouldn't matter much anyway, right?

    Thanks! :)

The Core 2 will still outperform Core because of the better architecture. You'll always have the option to upgrade to a 64bit OS as well.

BTW, the Vista OS Dell includes is 32bit. The Latitude notebooks might have that option for 64bit, but the Inspiron's do not.

windows 64 bit takes full advaantage of the core2 duo (C2D) 64-architecture
the windows provided by OEMs preinstalled on their notebooks at the moment is 32 bit thpugh theres n huge difference that would be noticeble between the two OS when running on a 63 bit processor it wuld surely be benificial for the future wn more and more programs make proper use of the 64 bit architecture of the processing chips
