OK I bought the Ultimate Upgrade Edition. I installed the 32bit version on my Vostro 1700 and went to install it on my Tosh Satellite. When I go to activate it comes back and says the product key is not vaild on my Tosh laptop.
Am I allowed to install the 32 and 64 bit versions on different computers or are both versions tied to one product key ergo one computer?![]()

One key is good for one computer. You can install 32 or 64 on that computer, but you cannot install 64 on one computer and 32 on another. You own a license for a single use of Windows 7 32/64.

To answer the unasked question, yes, microsoft keep track of which license has been activated on what kind of computer. One key per computer, one key per install.
Doesn't matter if you happen to have downloaded or 'obtained' 32 and 64 bit media. Use that license key and that's all you are going to get.
One install. -
Thanks all for your answers, I was afraid of that. Let's hope I can get on the WFP and score a free copy of W7 Ultimate.
