My 3ds max keeps freezing every now and then about every 2-5 mins for about 20 seconds which is really annoying considering i have work to do..
This happens on both 3ds max 8 and newly installed 3ds max 2010.

    Any ideas?

Does it happen in any games? Have you recently updated your drivers? Those periodic freezes almost sound like an overheating issue, which isn't unheard of with a hot-running card like the GTX 260M, especially coupled with a quad-core. Check for dust.

I have also experienced this problem.

Just came across this thread, and it has helped. Large files dont hang up anymore, like they used to.

Just a note - I have just started using that tweak, and dont knw if it will have any long term effects. So if u ARE gonna try it, do so with caution.

    Cheers.
