Thats a very huge pagefile. What about removing the system protection with the most recent restore point and after u have all hdd empty with those trash again create the restore point with fresh settings. :D

That pagefile size is messed up...

    Check your pagefile settings at:

Control Panel > Sys & Maint. > System > Advanced system settings > Performance: Settings... > Advanced tab > Virtual memory: Change...

hiberfil.sys should be the same size as the amount of ram you have. You can adjust that if you disable hibernation in power options. 2.7GB sounds right given you have a 32bit OS and discrete video card.

The 1.5 - 2x RAM rule was dated back from the age of Windows 3.1 but it is now outdated. The point of having a swap file is to use it as a temporary memory when you are out of RAM. But if you have more RAM, the less likely that this will happen. Therefore, the larger your RAM, the smaller the swap file should be, not bigger. Therefore, the 1.5 to 2 times the amount of RAM rule is illogical. Following that rule means that the larger your RAM, the bigger the swap file should be.

Imagine if you have Windows Vista 64bit Ultimate with 128GB RAM. Does it mean you have to reserve 256GB Hard Disk space just for the swap file? That's ridiculous!
