What browser are you using? Probably the video playback plugin is not 64-bit compatible? Have you tried with a different media player enabled as default in the browser, perhaps?

You will need to use either the 32 bit version of Firefox or IE for flash to work.

First are you using IE or Firefox? There is no need to change the operating system as 32 bit programs will run without a problem on Vista 64 bit. You must be using IE because I am not aware of Mozilla offering Firefox x64 mainstream. So you will just need to use the regular IE version.

The default browser in Vista x64 is 32-bit IE7. There's nothing special to do to use it. You just click the "e" icon by the start button, or Start -> Internet Explorer.

switch to ie 32bit and all works well. 64bit windows allows you to run 32bit apps with no loss at all. and flash works there.

but isn't there a 64bit flash floating around since recently?

It is only for Linux I'm pretty sure.

IE 7 32bit comes pre installed with vista. Just press start and search "internet explorer" and click on the one that does not say 64bit. And make sure you downloaded the latest flash player. http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/

Hmm that is odd. Try this:

Go to computer/ C drive / Program files (86) / internet explorer/ and then double click the "iexplore" icon.

Do as S0ap says or just copy & Paste line in Run / Command Prompt press enter

    Code:
    %ProgramFiles(x86)%\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe
