Few months ago when i was checking not a whole lot of antiviruses run at 64 bit windows. Is it better now?
I'm particilary curious about avast and avira. Which is better for 64 bit now?
I found the avast info http://www.avast.com/eng/x64.html
But not avira's.

FYI : http://download.cnet.com/Avira-Anti...virus/3000-2239_4-10322935.html?tag=mncol;pop
it supports both 32bit and 64bit versions
BTW give Microsoft Security Essentials a try -
Been runing avira suite for almost a month now on win7 64bit without issues, so im assuming its much better now
-
I've been running Avast ever since beta and again on RC1 (both 64bit) with no problems.
-
i use avg 8 (not 9) and comodo which have worked ok under vista 64 and now win 7 64. both good and both free
-
I have been using Avira AV and outpost 2009 with no problems
-
running nod32 with windows fw and all is well....

im using Microsoft Security Essentials 64 bit version and win 7s firewall
and a hardware firewall in my router -

I just installed MSE and have been running it for a few hours now. I'm impressed with its low resource usage, and as theZoid said, the price is definitely right!
-
Haven't even looked at MSE, but I really would like a new AV solution. McAfee VirusScan enterprise (which I love dearly) still doesn't work correctly under x64. Keeps throwing errors in the On-Access scan log, confirmed by them to be a x64 only issue.

I use Comodo Internet Security. Still not convinced by it.
-
Using MSE (for about 2 months now) has caught a virus on a data stick Avira missed. Runs perfectly on my WIN 7 and old XP machines. Windows built in firewall and hard router finish off the package.

Any comparative charts for MSE and other antiviruses yet?

AV Comparative's most recent report on malware removal -
i always uaes KIS (kaspersky internet security) .. and now on win7 i run KIS2010 without problems.
It has everything (av,mail av,browser av,firewall,.............................. ) there are rly ALOT of features. if u dont need them, turn them off. It asks me for everything so i can always be sure not to miss anything happening on my laptopSometimes annoying but secure. Also it checks when some file as changed and checks that file again if it has changed to smth bad.
I´m not sure about how much ressources it takes and how it is compared to others.
this is also nice:
