Is Windows Vista Home Premium with Service Pack 1 (64-bit) legit? I saw it as an option for HP notebooks. Does this mean that if I pop in a 4gb RAM, it will display the full 4gb?

Yes, that version of the Operating System does exist and it will be able to address all your 4GB of memory. The only downside is that some applications might not work correctly under a 64bit environment, and some devices might not have 64bit compatible drivers.

all applications i've installed run flawlessly...and all my devices have drivers as well. But yeah, just search for 64 bit drivers before you make the switch.

I dont see why it wouldnt exist, just a cut down ultimate.

x64 is over rated, I just posted a detialed idea of what it means and requires to use 4gb of ram. Its under a thread called "activating all 4gb of ram" or something similar. I would search for it because there is alot more to using 4gb of ram than just having a 64bit OS.
