Hi. I have an iPod Touch that I used on a laptop that ran 32-bit XP. That laptop died, and I got a new laptop with 64-bit Vista. However, I now wish to transfer my music from my iPod to my new computer. Now, all of the iPod recovery programs that I run say that my iPod is not plugged in - but iTunes recognizes the iPod.
So, what gives? Is this just a quirk of Vista, or do I need to do other things?

What programs are you using in an attempt to grab your music from your touch and are you sure said programs support the touch?

SharePod, Danisoft iPod Music Transfer, and iPod to Computer Transfer. All of them failed to detect my iTouch when it was plugged in and on.

Sounds to me that those programs your using can't use the drivers for the touch from Vista 64. Try finding those programs that are 64bit compatible.

*facepalm* Of course! I should have known that...

if you find a program that works, please let me know as well. i reformatted my 32bit os to 64 bit and....well, you know the rest.
