I bought an xbox 360 back in December from newegg. I also bought xbox live gold for $49.
I just sold my 360 on ebay for $122 :( I didn't want to but I had to.

I am going to format the HDD before I send it to the buyer. But my xbox live profile still has 8 months of xbox live gold that will be going to waist if there is no way for me to salvage it.

Is there anyway to save or sell the remaining 8 months on it?

    Thanks

Goodbye xbox360 :( I'll buy another one when I move out and get settled.

I am almost certain that you cannot sell the account without it being against the EULA.

You could recover the account on another 360 and give it to someone you know

Well, you certainly can't sell it on an open forum or even eBay. Though, who knows, there are ways to do it I'm sure easily. :)

But be warned though, if you've got your credit card information linked to it, whoever gets it next will be able to make purchases off your card. Also, they'll be able to access your email (I think) and log in to your messenger account. If you don't have any solid ideas about what to do about it I'd suggest changing the associated email address and or try to close the account....like right now. www.xbox.com

I wouldn't even bother try and sell it, to much personal info linked to it.

Ok well I'll just keep it there :( I do want to keep my gamertag to use later when I move out and get on my own feet.

Thanks for all you answers :)

There's no way to suspend the account temporarily, is there?

    I doubt it
I'll log in on xbox.com every once in a while to keep it active. I probably won't be using it for 4-5 years though...
