    Will a 160GB SSD support a win XP 64 BIt....and will the latter support 8 GB of RAM?

    yes to both, as long as your laptop's chipset supports 8Gb RAM as well.

    why woulde nt it support a SSD, XD

    and yes, in theory but most laptops only go to 4 GB

    Does a montevina chipset support upto 8gb of RAM

    The 45-series chipset can easily address the whole 8GB.
