Hey I was just rebooting when a blue screen popped up and some white text went down it, for just for a second, and then the notebook rebooted I tried again two more times with the same results and then rebooted in safe mode and did a system restore to about 4 weeks before and every thing seems to be working now.

Was this a virus? or just some wacky XP thing? Do you think I got rid of it by doing the system restore or did I just delay it again? I must admit this is the first time something like this has happened to me. Luckily I have Linux on my machine, were I save my important data so if anything go terribly wrong with XP it wont hurt me. But all the same its kinda weird.

Probably your graphics drivers throwing a blue screen cause i today had the same problem. Got a blue screen error then system rebooted and screen would work till windows loaded then black... So i removed the modified ini drivers and installed orginal drivers and windows loaded :D.

Well I have not touched the drivers at all, but I suppose if I get the problem again I could try reinstalling them.

I see you've just had your first BSOD experience (Google it). Yeah it's a Windows thing. Problems could range from corrupted drivers to invalid memory addresses to page faults that were not handled correctly by the OS. If the system restore worked, then you're fine.

LOL, is that what it is, well I had always heard of it and wondered if that was what happened to me, it seemed to be pretty easy to fix though.
