The Notebook Review forums were hosted by TechTarget, who shut down them down on January 31, 2022. This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved.     Not so far off there ;-) since 3.6 is on a different Gecko engine version than 3.5

    FF Minefield is the closest (or ahead) of 3.6 (or 4) that you can use at the moment.

    Firefox should catch up with IE8 and Chrome and implement a Protected Mode equivalent.

    [private browsing] mode is there in 3.5, and 3.5 is available right now.

    The implementation sucks though. IE actually implements the feature better since you don't have to close your normal browser windows.

    I like the way Chrome implements private browsing. It's similar to IE.

    Though it's still a welcome addition to Firefox.

    I kinda like this implementation. Either you are in private mode and start from new, and not letting a side-door open for sniffing (?)
