I have the 9th version and it bugs me that more lines are not written without the name in front.
So I`m looking at ways to distinguish the text from my own. If I don`t use the "use my fonts and colors" option, my screen having a huge resolution, doesn`t work well with some of them, with fonts of 8-9, whereas I need a solid 14 FROM EVERYONE to read it without eye strain.
I want to at least change their text color, but there`s no option for that.
    Any clue?

Go to preferences (Ctrl+shift+P) and toggle down to appearance, then enable the "Always use my fonts and colors" option. I'm not sure how you would put their name next to each message, i know what you are talking about though, that annoyed me as well. Hope this helps! <3

There's an option to change the fonts and sizes and also to choose bold, italic and underline above the text area.

Can't help you too much specifically in regard to the Yahoo Messenger text, but I can help you in general to increase your text size everywhere in your computer. Here are six different things you can do -- and they make all the difference in the world! I've done them all!

    1. DPI - Right click on Desktop, go to Personalize. On Personalization Page, go to left column to: Adjust Font size – DPI, DPI Scaling: Click on Large scale (120 DPI), and click Apply.

    2. At the lower right hand corner of every IE web page, there’s a Zoom control that lets you increase the size of every web page, and it stays at that Zoom setting for every page. I keep mine at 125%.

    3. Open Internet Explorer, go to Tools, Internet Options, General, Accessibility, Select Ignore font styles specified on web pages, check boxes and click OK, Apply, OK.

    4. Open Internet Explorer, go to Tools, Internet Options, Advanced, uncheck all 3:
Reset text size to Medium for new windows and tabs, and
Reset text size to Medium while Zooming, and
Reset Zoom level to 100% for new windows and tabs

    5. Open Internet Explorer, click the Page button, click Text Size, and then put in the size you want i.e. Large (Largest may be too large).

    6. If you have a scroll wheel on your mouse, use command/ctrl + your scroll on a web page to increase the font size.

But that`s just it, it increases the size for their messages also, not just mine. I need to be able to tell my text appart from theirs, while keeping it readable also. Most of them use 8 for the font size, and on my 1920x1200 screen that`s eye murder
