This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    The other night, I was chatting with someone. We were having a debate on a rather complex topic.

    After proving him wrong, he started talking about leet hacking skills. Anyway, the jist of it is, at one point, he was able to block my IMs to him, but still able to send them to me.

    Basically, he still appeared online in my buddy list, but when I tried to send him an IM, it would say, "[username] cannot receive offline IMs (error 602)" or something to that effect, and would not transmit my message, but he could still send me IMs regardless.

    Any ideas?
