Hey everyone. I have the old AIM 5.9 installed and the funny thing is that it doesn't always load up when I double click the icon. Sometimes it works perfectly. I think it is some kind of compatibility issues, but it is not to an extent that it doesn't work completely. I was wondering if anyone knows some kind of tweak or tricks that would make the old AIM 5.9 work normally.

And I don't want to install the new AIM 6.0. I don't like it.

same problem here, running aim 5.2...will "load up" and have to go to task manager and close it through that then reopen it...

I will only use AIM 5.9, heres what you need to do to make it work.

    Install AIM version 5.9: http://www.aim.com/get_aim/win/other_win.adp

Install AIM AD Hack 5.9 Light: http://aftermath.dyndns.org:8888/~aimadhack/

    Install Viewpointkiller: http://fileforum.betanews.com/detail/ViewpointKiller/1131474922/1

Now after installing in that order make sure to right click and run in Windows XP SP2 Compatibility Mode, and then it will work perfectly :)

It still sometimes won't work if you double click but thats very rare.

The other programs remove the AD programs and Viewpoint so it doesn't lag your internet connection by downloading ADs which would cause it to crash on occasion in Vitsa.

I run 5.5 with ADhack 3.63 and i get the same thing. Occasionally i load it but it doesn't show up. I just kill aim.exe in task manager and re-open it, no biggie.
