i cant change file names...when i try, its sayz file dont exist, but the file works just fine..

i cant DL gadgets, they wont install...

it says its got one day till activation but it wont let me just activate it...i press it, and NOTHING happens or pops up...

my 'Shiba intergrated web cam wont pick up the drivers...tells me to contact hardware vendor...when i go deeper, it says something like registry couldnt be found...

    wtf man?

i searched all over the shiba forums..NOTHNG, just bunch of pple griping, and then other pple sayin its BEEN covered...rite....the camera worked when it had XP installed, but the music wasnt workin rite, so i put it back....when i bought the computer the previous person was who installed xp.....i LIKE my shiba, and i HOPE i can fix these problems, but they wont hamper me from fully enjoying it...it performs like a dream, imo.

First, post your laptop model and any software or tweaks you've installed, plus the operating system version. Second, post when this started happening. Third, did Toshiba provide an OS install disk, or is there a restore partition available?

And forth - please don't use leetspeak.

had vista re installed, bought it used, came with xp
    32bit vista
the cat that re installed vista gave me all the drives but thats bout it, i dont have a vista disc, but i still have the original key and all that stickered to the bottom of the laptop where it comes.

i havent installed n e tweaks, i dont think, but i followed the vista thread to what i could to make it "seem" more efficient.

It sounds like you have a few problems, and you can't even do a repair action without the Vista disc. Without a Vista OS disc, you can't reinstall. You'll have to install XP.

Why in the world did you not activate Vista when it was installed?

Maybe. If it came with your friend's computer, and it's a major brand, it may be locked to his/her brand of computer (Dell for example). But otherwise it should work fine if you put your key in. In the installer, select whatever edition of Vista your computer came with, because that's the only one your key will work for.

Another option... I don't know about Toshiba, but most vendors put the installation on a recovery partition on the hard drive. You may want to ask about it in the Toshiba forum.
