Just to let those Aussies know (who don't already), Microsoft is running deals with TAFE (Academy/Polytechnic/Skills Institute) students that allow them to buy the abovementioned software at $50-$70 each, plus $14 if you want a DVD (instead of digital distribution).

So if you've got a friend at TAFE who's not likely to use their invitation, get them to go HERE so you can take advantage of it.

Those prices are pretty close to the 'standard' academic pricing in Oz.

Might not be a special promotion, but a special announcement.

In any case, go for it. No one pays retail.

    No probs ;)

Ah, I didn't know that, thought stadard student pricing (from officeworks/hardly normal) was a bit more than that, but I might be mistaken.

Oh, and as a side note, the W7 Pro is supposedly an upgrade, but I did a fresh install after formatting, straight off the W7 dvd, and it activated just fine, so should be ok for XP users as well.

Just thought I'd add that this deal is offer to both Uni and Tafe students now (if it wasn't before).

But pricings still pretty high. No wonder Microsoft makes so much cash. Athough $75 for microsoft office ultimate is a great deal when they throw in a free upgrade to office 2010
