I run AVG daily, and I get this result every day:
shell32.dll - Change - C:\Windows\system32\shell32.dll
My machine doesn't seem to be adversely affected, so I haven't really worried about it, but today the scan found this one, too:
ntoskrnl.exe - Change - C:\Windows\system32\ntoskrnl.exe
Again, following the scan, I get the "No threats found" message.
I've googled both, and didn't find anything alarming, but I'm just wondering:
1. Why would shell32 be "changing" every day?
2. Should I be worried about the ntoskrnl.exe change?
My system: Lenovo T-60 ws, T-7200, XP Pro, 2 gigs RAM, ATI X1400
I'd appreciate any info.

It's not finding a NEW one everyday, It's detecting the same one. As for the ntoskrnl.exe i had the same thing after an update.

Thanks for the reassurance, everyone. I really appreciate it.
WackyT, I'll give it a shot -- sounds like all will be well.
Thanks again.
