I am looking for a program to covert AVI video files to something that Nero can burn to make dvds that are watchable on a dvd player. I don't know excalty what Nero accepts, i'm guessing MPEGs.

I am looking for free software. And better than a video converter would be an actual burning program that can do AVIs.

I have windows vista, so it must be compatible.

    Thanks alot

Weird, as far as I can tell Nero will accept AVI's into NeroVision Express to create a DVD with.

At least that's what it's telling me

DVD Flick is perfect. It's possible to run several DVD Flick at the same time. But it takes 2 hours each dvd at least. If you have a dvd player that supports divx then use Imgburn to burn them as a Data DVD in 20 minutes.
