Just installed Win 7 on a Acer 5024, the fan is spinning nonstop and can't find a way to deal with it. Can't see a driver for the ML-34 Turion for Win 7, and also cant see anyway to alter the fan settings.

Also it has an ATI mobile 700 graphics card, is there anythign to support this under Win 7?

The fan issue is more than likely a bios problem than a OS problem. Download cpuid for me and go to the motherboard tab. Use the snip-it program on the OS and post it.

As far as the graphics go, here is the download link. (I am assuming that you are using 32 bit OS)

You also are going to need this mod tool mobility modder

As cloudbyday said, it's most likely a bios issue.

    How hot does it get?

You guys are probably right. That laptop came with the Turion processor which required a special CPU driver (cool and quiet). that is supposed to be built into Windows 7 so it may be that a bios update will make it work with the built in windows driver.

It may not be the CPU but the GPU that is running hot. I have an Everex with Go7600 that won't downclock for the powermiser with Win7 drivers and it gets a bit warm because of this............

    Your right, there isn't one.

Have you got the latest graphics driver installed?

The fix is to get Windows XP processor driver into Windows 7.
The k8 Processor driver on Windows Xp isn't the same as the one in Windows 7.
On AMD Forums it is reported the Windows 7 Driver causes the processor to run at 100% all the time.
    >Heat = >Fan Spin.
Solution copy the k8 driver from Windows 7 after the AMD Processor driver is installed into the driver folder of Windows 7.

I don't quite understand, are you talking about the XP driver? Didn't think that Win7 allowed that to be installed.
