I've heard that Vista 64-bit can be a real pain regarding incompatiblity.
Is this true? Any horror stories? Because I am minutes away from getting a Dell M1530 with Home Premium on 64-bit. Thing is, I dig the 6GB of RAM.

haven't had any problems on my desktop or laptop, plus i get to use 64 bit programs

If you get 6GB of RAM, no way you should not get 64 bit. You will barely use 3.5GB of 32 bit, so the other 3 is useless, put to waste. I have come across a few incompatibility issues, but its mostly for older programs, or programs of "lower performance needs" such as an old photo editor. Compare that to CS4, its a monster that will be happy to use 64 bit.
So I say 64 bit all the way. -
I'm not talking about super-old, like pre-'95, but apps around 2-3 years old such as Warcracft III or Source Games. -
I use 64-bit Vista on all my computers.
Never personally, had any compatibility problems, source games or otherwise. -

get 64bit. There are almost no compatibility issues anymore. It runs 32bit programs fine so no worries. And having 64bit vista i have played both the games mentioned above with no problems. Besides 64bit is the future. You wouldn't spend 1 grand on a dvd player now would you? No you would buy a blu ray instead. If your investing in a new pc, get 64bit.

Moved to 64-bit two days ago. No compatibility problems whatsoever.

Been usin x64 for about a month and a half now and have had no compatibility issues either. The only issue I had was when I took a friends copy of Fallout3 and it said that it wouldn't work with 64bit or something like. Once I clicked Install or whatever it is, an error came up about that. But that might be isolated. All other games have worked fine, and crysis even has two separate ways to run it, either 32bit or 64.
About Get Vista... 64-bit???
