I got a Gateway with Basic MS Office. Also, I got a HP but bought no software with it.

I got the re-installation disk with the Gateway and tried to run it with the HP but it doesn't recognize the computer and doesn't work.

Is there a way to take advantage of my CD with the HP?

    Thanks :D

Why don't you try OpenOffice (free). Unless you're doing sophisticated Excel stuff, the Office capabilities are pretty well covered. http://www.openoffice.org/
