    Accessing Recovery Console

    I forgot how to access the recovery console while the computer is booting up. How do I again? (This is for an Acer Desktop)

    Hold F8 brings up the menu with everything I think.

    The problem is my friend is trying to reformatt his HDD with the Back Up discs he made from that program on the computer. How do you reformatt with the back up discs you make because they do not have any type of autorun?
