Dumb question but did you check to see if there were any restore points you could use? Recycle bin?

system restore is the first thing i tried, and it it isnt in the recycle bin, the reason it got deleted is that I was playing with my pocket pc, and deleted all the contacts in there while it was conected to the pc

So they're not in either place? pc or cell? If not try looking for a .pst file. Outlook stores your Contacts with the rest of your Outlook data in a Personal Folders file that has a PST file extension.
    in Vista check here C:\Users\you\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook
if not, don't know what to tell ya :eek2:

Howardforums would be a better place to get an answer on this matter.

Did you have any Exchange Server, or did it delete the contacts of that too?

So you found an .pst file with the contacts, even after contacts were deleted?

The best way is to do an export. From the file menu you'll see Import and Export. Select Export it will bring you to a screen that will ask you in what format you want. I always select .PST format because I backup my contacts. calendar, to do list etc all into the same .PST file. This is important! Check the subfolder box as it will backup everything from your personal folder file including what's in your Inbox.

Click on next and it will ask if you want to assign a password to your file for security. Don't lose the password because YOU WILL NEED IT WHEN YOU RESTORE THAT FILE. ;)

Click next and it will ask where you want to save the file and you can also give it a name although "backup.pst" is the default.

I sync my WM phone with my XP & Vista. Also auto syncs with my Mail2Web Exchange. So it's damn near impossible to loss my contacts :)

    Lucky your running Vista. :D

Since you have two PC's it's best to sync your phone with both of them being that it would be impossible to wipe out both at the same time. That's what I do, but with differ partitions (XP & Vista) instead.

I use Microsoft Outlook Personal Folders Backup and backup every time I close outlook. To another partition also. This MS program is designed for 2003, but it's been working on my version of Outlook 2007 just fine.
