i was trying to figure out how to get my hdmi to work on my new laptop and i accidently switched my primary display from internal to external on the right click desktop, it wasn't in the display option it was in something else but i can't remember what exactly. If i reboot and take it into safe mood i can see just fine but i can't swtich it back to the internal from there.

I can't remember which key it is...but look at your function keys on the notebook. One of them will have a funky monitor-like symbol on it, or just flat out say CRT/LCD. Hit that key and the 'Fn' key at the same time...it'll cause your notebook to rotate through the various display options one of which is what you need.

So you boot the laptop up, give it a good amount of time to boot fully into Windows, and then hit Fn+F1 and nothing happens?

    edit:

when i boot it up normally it goes to the windows loading screen upon windows loading is when it cuts to black.

Press win+P twice, wait 5 seconds, then press it again, then again until you you see things on the laptop monitor.

edit: for the record what does that do? sorry i haven't had a laptop since i was...12ish?(right when the orginal age of empires came out and i was in middle school(now 24)

edit again: also what i believe i did was i went to the Graphics Options, then to output to, then to monitor.

actually just did it again just to make sure, and yup that's what i did.

That changes the presentation mode. Same thing that Fn+F1 should have done, but that's awesome you got it working.
