The first post on the forum, hi to all! :)

I've got a Acer Extensa 5630Z as secondary laptop. It's pretty new, and I was doing an installation of PC Suite to it. This somehow made the machine crawl on its knees; I uninstalled it with a Nokia PC Suite uninstaller. Yet even after uninstallation, the keyboard started exhibiting weird behaviour (it starts to work about 2-3 minutes after WinXP has booted), WLAN doesn't work well, and the windows open slowly, sometimes leaving behind a drag. Trying to change eg. WLAN settings makes the operating system jam almost completely.

Is there a single point of trouble visible here? Any users out there with similar problems? I'm really interested to get some more view on this issue. I went through all Windows processes and all were o.k., ie. no rogue ones. And viruses have been weeded out, I did a full scan with av scanner.

There's progress.. After running CCleaner and making it go through Registry errors (+one WinXP boot) there was improvement: WLAN started working ok, and the system was much more quick. So I think it removed broken links into the PC Suite or other startup programs. Running CCleaner definitely did a lot of good.

Still there's the issue that keyboard doesn't work for until about 4-5 minutes of Windows boot has passed. This is one the most weird phenomena I've encountered. No clue as of yet what causes it.

BTW.. I challenge all to try out how to spell your login name to the favorite site using only Windows Charmap utility and mouse. It's really a challenge and so much fun!

    Hi!

First I just have to tell you that my english is bad so if you don't understand me just say so.

Me and my boyfriend bought two Acer Extensa 5630Z and we have also the same problem with the keyboard on both laptops. It really drives you mad when it doesn't work.

My keyboard is getting worse by time, somtimes it doesn't work at all and I have to restart. But my boyfriend just gets the problem from time to time, but I get it everytime I start up.

I have Windows vista though but I see that it's the same problem anyway...

Can you update the synaptic touchpad driver from laptopvideo2go?
Sometimes the hardware interrupt causes the keyboard input issues.
