Hi, guys i have a got some strange problem with my laptop - Acer ferrari 4000. After reinstalling the windows XP my disk drive (D :) does not open with double click any longer, it asks which program would i like to use to open (D :) - Microsoft Media Player, notepad etc....

The only way i can open it now is by clicking right click and pressing 'Open' , as me for a user this is quite annoying to do :(

P.S. here is a screenshot of what i get after pressing double click on (D :)

    thnx...

QHN, I don't think disk D: is his CD/DVD drive but just the second part of the hard drive.
Movax4ch, what kind of info do you have on this partition? If you can remove it or temporarily replace it to C:, try formating dirve D: from Windows (right click, format). Further, update your Windows via Windows Update and get IE7. If you haven't done it already, try these before formating the dirve.

One more thing. Since I see your D drive uses FAT32...you'd better convert it to NTFS. I am pretty sure this is the problem.

vassil_98: u r probably right, i did not catch the pic on movax4ch 1st post. thx

think about it, it might be it is movax4ch recovery partition - unless a complete wipe out is being made, that partition would always be there

    cheers ...

oh yeah i forgot mention, basically everything started like this , my antivirus found virus - trojan horse with a file name: wschf.exe or smth like this, i tried to delete it with norton, but it could not do it... than i tried to research on internet about this virus and found out that there is a program which can delete it - RegRun, i have installed it and checked laptop, it found around 14 mistakes in my laptop and i have deleted some of them, may be i have deleted some file which is responsible for the opening disk D: ? However after that i have reinstalled my windows XP using ACER RECOVERY CD, but did not help .. :(

Sorry for a bad english or miss understanding sentences...
