Hello Everyone,
I am attempting to split rather large PDF files into smaller ones
The PDF Files are scans of textbooks, one is roughly 40 MB the over over 300.
I am wanting to do this because the coding for android PDF readers cant seem to handle these file sizes and it crashes most of them (force closes)
When i split the 40 mb file into about 20 different parts, each individual file is ~ 20 MB, which does not make sense, if i add each individual component the total file size is over 300 mb which in no way adds up to the original file size.
Why might this be? is there any way to shrink these sizes down?

I think there should be an option. For me I go to File>Save As > Reduced Size PDF and you should be able to save it to a smaller size. Hope that helps. I'm using Adobe Acrobat X Pro at work.
Man, PDF Textbooks on Cell Phone. I graduated 5 years too early lol -
Is mean is there a better way to split this document. a 40mb file split 19 ways should not turn into 19 15+mb files, that doesnt compute nor make any sense at all to me
