If I make a full backup with Acronis, and then get a new hard drive, can I just upload the old backup?

If not, how would I do this?

    Thanks,
    Peter

There can be issues relating to restoring an image to a different HDD. The safest solution would be to get a 2.5" HDD enclosure and then use True Image to clone the existing HDD to the new one. You can then swap the HDDs and keep the old on as a bootable reserve or just wipe it and use it for storage.

Well, the computer is being sent to Sony for service - and there's the possibility that the HD will be replaced.

I already made a backup under normal compression onto an external HD. What do you recommend I do before I ship it out?

    Thanks.
