A critical object is a single file that represents a threat or spyware on your computer. Here is a decent tutorial. You don't need to quarantine, just follow the steps in the tutorial and you should be fine.

quarantine moves the file to a secure location where it can't do anything; it's just a backup in case the file happened to be legitimate and you want it back.

Adaware is decent on recognizing spyware, just click quarantine. If you have a program that needs something that was quarantined, just go back and undo the change via Adaware thru an option in the program.
