    Hello

Recently I have changed some setting from the administrative tool via the Run function MMC and gpedit.msc and have noticed a link on my Programs list.

When I tried to delete it prompted that the, "Admisnistrative Tools is a Windows system folder and is required for Windows to run properly. Itcannot be deleted."

How can I remove the link freom the Programs List?

    Thanks

Usually, you can remove a program group by browsing here and deleting the link.

    C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs

Of course, if the link only shows under the administrator account, you'd look in the administrator's start menu group.

I am not sure if we are thinking about the same, but try this:
(right click on the taskbar) >> Properties >> Start menu >> Customize
    >> Advanced >> Start menu items: System administrative tools: Don't display this item.

    Hope this helps

The link is in the Start> Program list....

When I changed some setting from the Administrative Tools it automatically included itself in the list. And I want to remove it!

Hmm I am not sure if I can help you, but you can try a Your Uninstaller 2006 software - it has an option to remove unwanted items from the start menu program list. You can download a trial version and check if the program can help you.

hmmm....uninstallation doesn't seem to be the key as this program is needed for windows to operate....

I just want to remove the link from the Program list...

Another "problem" linked to the same issue is that accidently I created a folder on the desktop....and when I try to delete this folder, it prompts "The Administrative Tool is a winodws system folder.....It cannot be deleted."

    The folder is empty...

I was not talking about uninstalling, but removing the option from the programs list ( Your Uninstaller not only uninstalls, but also removes the items from start menu program list and manage your startup applications).

Nice to know your problem no longer exist :]
