There seems to be a mixed message on threads as to whether Adobe Photoshop Elements 6.0 and Adobe Premier Elements 4.0 work on 64-bit versions of Vista. The Adobe website is no help. I know they didn't work at one point, but then there are mixed posts as to whether Adobe has fixed this...

I don't know specifically about Elements, but Photoshop CS3 works fine on 64bit Vista. Most 32-bit apps will work just fine on 64-bit Vista -- you don't need a special 64-bit version of the application.

You could always check on the website and even fire off an email to adobe to double check

They will most likely make a patch/fix if it happens to be uncompatible with x64

Kanehi, I assume you are running them on x64? The Adobe forums are full of comments from people who have struggled with these applications on x64 versions of Vista, and who have been told by Adobe that Adobe only supports 32-bit versions of Vista for now. Of course, some of those comments are 2-3 months old, so I'm hoping Adobe has come around... Kanehi, can you confirm you're using these apps without trouble? There are a number of posts also by folks who have tweaked their way into running these apps with partial feature set (some features crash the system), so I'm hoping Adobe has gotten past that.

I have Adobe CS3 Extended and Acrobat 8 running on Vx64. No problems. I have it on both my laptops (2) and desktops (2). CS2 runs fine with it too.

Anyone with the Elements versions? Adobe forums say full Photoshop works, but Elements versions don't, because they have some old 16-bit installers that blow up when you install stuff. Other folks seem to be able to make it work, which makes me wonder if they've fixed it. Sorry to beat a dead horse, but would love to hear from someone who has one of the Elements versions working on an x64 version of Windows.

I have the Adobe Elements program from Dell but I'm not going to install that one on my system. I like the HP Photo program better... more simplier. I also have Roxio EMC10 Suite.

Good point. It's true that 16-bit installers will not work on 64-bit Vista. That could be the stumbling block there.
