    So basically the title says it all. While I record the sound tends to be distorted throughout, sometimes randomly stopping. What's odd is that this never occurs in Windows Vista. I assume it's a sound driver issue, but I don't know any more further than that.

    Any ideas to either tweak the Audition to make it work or a better driver?
    From the device manager, it says:
    Realtek High Definition Audio
    Driver Date : 2007-06-14
    Driver Version: 5.10.0.5433

    Thank you in advance :)

    //Edit:

    I just installed to the latested driver,
    It still does not fix the problem.
    Any ideas?

    things to be checked out:

    1) make sure the windows audio level not set to max (85% is enough)

    ) check adobe audition audio hardware setup to see if it's properly set up. default setting which works fine for me in XP (audition windows sound).

    it is always recommended to use a pro-audio device to record sound like firewire or usb or pci audio interfaces.
