I think you need to use something like DVDFab Decrypter that has the ability to pull a DVD apart into chapters.

is there anything like DVDFab out there that is free? Here's my situation: there are several DVDs, each of which contains the footage of multiple VHS tapes. For reasons beyond my understanding, my boss wants me to rip the VHS files off of the DVD and put each individual one on a seperate DVD.

Again, why they just don't take the original VHS tapes and put them onto individual DVDs is beyond my understanding.

    I really appreciate the help!

If your boss wants it done tell him to pay for the DVDFab license, otherwise make it clear how things should be done.
Sometimes a boss needs to have his hand held for a little bit of the way...

I agree. Your boss needs to pony up the small amount of cash for a license. If you want to show your boss how the software works, you can download and use the full version for 30 days.
