I agree. I wish I had found Foxit earlier since I have to go through literally hundreds of pdf files for research.

Foxit wins on all counts for pdf reading (not editing or creating). It doesnt bug you or run background/startup processes like Adobe.

It is so lightweight it can be installed an opened in literally 10 seconds.

+1 for Foxit for viewing PDF files. It's so much faster than Adobe and none of those annoying updates.

I like Sumatra as well but it kept opening in that overly large fixed window size. It also did not integrate with web browsers so one would have to save the file then open it. That was annoying.

I just hit "Open." The only flaw I noticed was an inabillity to save the view and zoom setting, which got fixed in 0.8.1 :)

I have a problem with foxit, if i leave it minimized with a pdf loaded and then go back after a few minutes, all of the toolbars are stacked all the way down the screen, so my pdf is only filing 40% of the screen and i have to drag them back into a straight line, at the top of the screen.

why is this happening, does anybody know!

EDIT : it`s just done it again!

    +1.

The free version has more features than the free version of Foxit. It is much heavier in resources though.

To anyone using Windows Vista, have you had any problems with PDF X-change?

Is that because it's better than Foxit in some way?

I don't remember why I switched, I read something that said it was better. Either Foxit or PDF Xchange viewer is good.

When Adobe 9 came out, loaed with bloat, beta, and all, I deinstalled it and installed PDF XChange Viewer, which is also free, and have not looked back.

I keep Adobe installed in case there's a problem with some particular PDF... or I need some obscure feature... but I use FoxIt as my regular PDF reader, and I make FoxIt the default in my web browsers and for .pdf files in Windows. FoxIt is sooo much faster. I no longer dread clicking on PDF links on the web.

I haven't tried any other PDF readers besides those two... I guess I'm just pretty happy with my current setup.
