    Hey guys,

I'm currently thinking of buying a video editing software (for Vista 32bit) for consumer use; occasional personal videos, and of course, videos for college projects.

I've been using Windows Movie Maker on Vista for the past years now, and I'm looking for a video editor that has way more features, but at the same time still has a simple GUI that I could probably get used to in a few hours or a couple of days.

So far, I've done some scouting and finalized on a few (these are not in any particular order of which I prefer more...):
    1. Adobe Premiere Elements
    2. Pinnacle Studio
    3. Corel Ulead Videostudio, and
    4. Magix Movie Edit Pro 14 Plus

I've read some reviews and so far Adobe Premiere Elements seems to be really buggy and crashes often (and also requires huge HDD space and RAM). Pinnacle Studio is quite pricey for my "consumer" budget, but if it can do the job, I'd consider it . And Corel Ulead also has a few bugs and has some rendering problems.

So as of now, Magix Movie Edit Pro seems like a good choice for its price.

However, I'm wondering what you guys think and can recommend...

I'm quite new to "real" video editing (as I consider Windows Movie Maker to be amateur software), but really hope to get into it with the new program I'll get.

For anyone who has owned and used, or is currently using Magix Movie Edit Pro 14 Plus, I'd appreciate some comments about its capabilities and any problems faced with it.

Also, my notebook setup is as follows: Dell XPS M1530, T9300 (2.5GHz) Processor, 3GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT.

Please advise me if these programs will run on my system flawlessly...(I've read that most likely Adobe Premiere Elements will be quite troublesome and requires higher system specs)...

    Thanks in advance...

Hmm....Dunno how much those 4 cost, but I'm using Sony Vegas Pro, and its an excellent video-editing software. I think it retails around $500. -.-

Thanks for the advice guys. My budget's anything not exceeding $100USD. Anyways, I'll finalize my choices between Sony Vegas Movie Studio and Magix Movie Edit Pro 14 Plus. Those are the two best options for me now. Sony Vegas Movie Studio would run on my notebook specs right?
