If i get a 32-bit Vista, can I still use AeroGlass?
And is AeroGlass in the RC1 build?
-
-
yes. Aero glass is in every version of Vista except basic and starter. But you must meet the requirements in order to use vista
-
basically graphics producing power... i doubt the intel gma950's can do it... but i dunno maybe they can, anyone can provide info on whether they can support it or not?
-
I've heard they can. gma950 are the ones in macbook, right?
-
gma950 is doubtful...which is one reason intel is pushing to get the X3000 out
personally, i wouldn't be surprised if the intel gma can't do it...they under-perform in just about EVERY category possible. -

I can not het Areo Glass to work on my Z62F with GMA950. It does not have a high enough performance rating.
My W7J with the 7400 works with Areo Glass without issue. -
Well, technically speaking, the GMA 950 is supposed to be capable of Aero Glass. @RogueMonk, if you can't get it to work, it may be a driver issue. Try getting the latest drivers from Intel (if they'll work for Vista). I've personally seen videos of Aero Glass running on GMA950, so your problem may lie somewhere else.

vistaRC1 (by me) has notoriuously switched aero glass to basic (& back&forth) when it ever feels like it - still haven't figured it out yet, just a simple message "vista is switching to basic due to some performance or apps or whatever bla bla"
& i have a 9700 with 128mb dedicated
i would suggest taking the requirements as piece of salt and wait until the final vista release, instead of chasing uncle bill "still in finalisation stage" software
cheers ... -
Vista will switch to Basic UI if applications are not skinnable. One example of this kind of program is iTunes 6, though iTunes 7 remedies... unfortunately. iTunes 6>>iTunes 7 IMO.
