I wouldn't touch a system partition if I were you

Completely agree with @Phoenix. Doing that is screwing with the recovery files AFAIK.

I wonder if the OP is referring to this issue:
- Some users report that a new partition is created after upgrading that they can't interact with. I did not experience this, but you may want to run Disk Management to remove it or hide it. If that does not work for whatever reason, use a program like TestDisk to remove it during boot.
I would recommend do some more research before deleting it thoughVasudev and jeremyshaw like this. -

Look online there is help on how to do this. If you don't need the REcovery Partition then follow the online instructions and that will permanently remove it-but remember once gone that is it unless you created or have the Factory REcovery media. And 498MB is crumbs removing it won't give you terabytes of space so my advice leave it.toughasnails and Vasudev like this. -
Its only needed if you do use Reset My PC through Win 10 instead of usual USB bootable ISOs.

I just installed cumulative update KB4103721 and have a new drive E.
Is it safe to just get rid of it? It doesn't look like its a recovery partition. Also, got a blue screen memory management error after restarting. -

Unless you sell it-the amount of spaced saved is pittance in space saving. -
What are you saying? I don't sell HDDs at all.

I was confused too. None give away their old HDDs with laptops/desktops these days.

Guess lost in translation. If you every sell the laptop having recovery media to wipe it clean is the reason you make the factory backup media or USB so whom buys it next can setup when they use it. That way no info is on there when it is sold. That is the reason I was talking about making the REcovery media if that option exists.

Usually I don't give recovery disk since most of them prefer to go with w7/w8.1 instead of w10.
After I updated from 1709 to 1803, there was a 498MB OEM partition. I want to know how to delete it?
