I know this this may be old news for some, but since March 19, 2009, all Hotmail accounts can enjoy free POP3 service.

    woohoo.

I can now have my yahoo and hotmail on outlook.

So that means I can use outlook with hotmail without it asking me for the password countless times.

I'm loyal WLH user, so I waited. I just can't stand labels and email stacking. :D

Well, I do use Gmail and Google App for one of my businesses, just wanted to test it out and my partner prefers Gmail.

Any instructions on how to setup yahoo email with Outlook? I'm stuck, it keeps asking me for my username which I input either my yahoo email account name or real name and it just keeps looping on that, so I cancel. :(

This is good news because in the past inorder to get my hotmail or live accounts to sync with outlook I had to use the outlook connector. Now that all accounts support pop3 then there is no longer a need for the connector.

Afaik, POP isn't free with Yahoo, you will need to add something like YPOPs! or IzyMail to Outlook. However, the problem with this is that it is not stable, if Yahoo updates its server security, then you may need to wait for a newer version of YPOPs! to get it work again.

It depends what Yahoo account you have. I have a .co.uk yahoo account and it lets me retrieve my emails via pop3 without having to pay, I think i can send to. I'm not sure if this is only on the uk yahoo though.

I think you're right, it depends on the account, I've seen users couldn't get it work even with YPOPs! or IzyMail.

To be honest, it's about time. This is a basic service that other email providers have offered. In the meantime, I have been using the new Live Mail program to fetch my messages... and will not be using either Outlook or Thunderbird at this point.
