    Allow or Disallow Indexing Service?

    On the HD, by going to My Computer -> Right click on HD and select options, and its the bottom 2 oftions. when selecting do you choose just the C:/ folder or all the subfolders too? thanks

    I turned it off completely. The C: drive, the D: drive (restore partition), and stopped and disabled the service.

    by default if supposed to be turned off completely on all drive. if you don't want or need disk indexing for faster file search then there is no need to tick the option. personally (under most circumstances) i think it is not worth it under xp. it will slow down your system by a bit though. if you don't frequent file search i recommend you leave it disabled.
