I just recently purchased a HP dv6-3030tx and have found that I am unable to close a window using the Alt+F4 shortcut.

When I attempt to close my browser for example, that annoying bell sound is emitted from the speaker. If I try in Windows Explorer, Alt+F4 only enables/disables the preview pane for the folder.

    Any solutions?

Edit: Not to worry. Found out that HP have mapped it as Alt + Fn + F4. Quite annoying but as long as I know why, it is fine for now. If possible, could someone close this thread. I can't seem to find out how.

How about Alt + Fn + F4? Some keyboards have their F-function the other way around (for example, instead of F5 doing a refresh, it adjusts the volume, and to do a refresh with F5, you need to press FN first)
