I'm looking for an alternative to installing RealPlayer on my Vista machine. Any suggestions to what I could use to play real files?

Wow, K-Lite'll play rmvb? Really?
-
Edit: Confirmed, i just checked the feature page, real alternative is included.. -
There's also a Winamp plugin, or so I've heard. I don't have the time to look it up, but I thought I'd mention it....

Well if your only looking for the realplayer plugins I'd go with Real Alternative, if your looking for a media player I'd go for WinAmp, I've just recently started using it and it's is v good - as they say it kicks the llamas ass...

K-Lite Mega Codec Pack plays any file you throw it it! Be it *.rm, *.ram, *.rmvb, any compressed video, 3Gp, Divx, 3ivx, etc.Anything, all in one small and neat player that uses very low system resources!
K-Lite Mega Codec Pack FTW!

Real alternative with the bundled media player classic will probably do fine if all the OP wants is a solution for .rm files without resorting to RealPlayer.

Combined community codec pack. Try that

I'm putting my vote for Real Alternative instead. Install and play in your favourite player, happens to be MPC for me. The bundled codec packs work, but after all, why do you want more stuff than what's needed?

Real Alternative is the best way. OMG. Is real player still around? What a piece of crap that thing is. I thought that the real format was dying.
