decided to do a reset because of all the bloat wares that asks brings with their laptops. I decided to choose the second option twice in the recovery menu.

It took over 5 hours for it to reach 5% so I decided to reboot it to see if something went wrong the first time around but ended up back in square one at 1% . Do I gotta just set this aside til it's done in 2018 or is there something I can do?

when it asks for a key, just skip that part, there is a link to skip at the bottom right

once you go online, your machine will be activated automatically using Hardware ID based activation.

If it didn't ask for a key to start with, that means it detected the key built into your UEFI BIOS and used it automatically.

The reason I suggested a clean install right away is because that reset option NEVER worked for me. Clean install, adjust your settings and what not, then make an image using Macrium Reflect

Then install your drivers and make a 2nd image

then install all software and enjoy
