As a typesetter I find MS Word and MS Publisher are a nightmare IMO for anything other than basic text formatting. Don't get me started on how they both handle styles or trying to import their file formats into something more usable such as InDesign/Quark Express/Illustrator/Freehand..

Outpost Firewall Pro isn't particularly irksome as it does the job well it's just that I always found it a pain to find the settings I needed to get to.

aye that is bad.. I sold my Sony mp3 player to a mate and bought an ipod because of the Connect software! It's painfully slow and very hard to find a version without the music store built in.

Microsoft Word 2003 and earlier -- for simple word processing, it is fine, but any kind of slightly advanced layout was difficult and maddening. Try drawing an simply object or getting a table to behave the way you expect it to---it's just annoying as heck

    Word 2007 is slightly better.

Nothing sticks out in a Windows OS to me that was annoying or a nuisance. However I can say for sure there have been so many annoying and just irritating things in Mac OS X 10.4 than in every edition of Windows I've used intensively.

Windows Movie Maker... Lysander I think saw the thread I started about it awhile ago. WMM really is the most successful virus in the Windows world... thank God that I don't have to use it much!

Oh my goodness, yes! I can't stand that garbage. One of the few pieces of software I've ever seen that hooks itself so badly into your computer the manufacturer got so many complaints it had to create a special removal tool you have to run to "clean" it off your system (uninstall almost never works).
