They need to calm down, SP1 was not guaranteed and/or at any certain time on the EULA.

These people have nothing better to do with their time than complain. Any one of the complainers could have taken a few minutes to search the internet and discovered the complete pain in the backside driver developers have caused Microsoft.

People need to remember that there are hundreds of thousands of hardware devices that work with Windows, and quite a few of them didn't really develop Vista drivers - they merely ported XP drivers to the new OS. Stop blaming MS and start complaining to your device manufacturer.

The X3100 driver issue is unacceptable to me....I know it's not entirely MS's fault, but they should've figured out some kind of solution. The majority of computer's sold in the last year probably have that x3100 in it.

Sorry for your dilemma. People won't know if SP1 will work until you install it. It's like taking a leap of faith. Fortunately my laptop (Dell XPS m1530) and desktop (HP m8300f) has no problems.

They did. The solution is for the author of the drivers to fix the damn things. Microsoft didn't write these drivers. If there are bugs in the drivers why should Microsoft be responsible for changing the operating system to fix them. These folks need to quite whining and start yelling at the proper place, Dell, Gateway and the other manufacturers are at fault here. It is their responsibility to get these drivers corrected through their OEM's.

MS is an easy scape goat for all things software related. But the truth is they are not to blame for every single software issue that comes down the pipe. People need to learn who is actually responsible, you have a driver issue then look to the people who made that hardware, issues with the application you have look to the developer who made said software.

Actually, Intel already fixed it too. Some OEMs have just not approved the new drivers and made them available for download. There are workarounds though.
