I turned off all the meaningless stuff (accelerator, web slice, smart filter...etc) during the IE8 wizard walkthrough. But when I open up accelerator I still see a half dozen of them on the list, some from google toolbar, others from MSN live (I installed live messenger 9).

So anyway, now when I highlight any text it would show a little arrow on the corner for more options (not sure if this is coming from google or msn live), and if I highlight pictures or special section of the page, it gives me web slice option. Mmm...I thought I turned them off?

Anyway, here is what I want. I don't need any accelerator and i just want google toolbar to do what it's supposed to do.

Umm... After you've turned off all the "meaningless stuff", you renabled them by installing "msn toolbar" in the messenger 2009 installer.

YOu have to disable them again. Go to internet option, manage addon, disable whatever you like.

You can completely turn off/disable the little blue Accelerator box if you wish: Go to: Tools -> Internet Options -> Advanced. Under the "Browsing" section, uncheck "Display Accelerator button on selection."
